Prefarrow Shield® 9
Swine Vaccine

Prefarrow Shield 9 gives broad-spectrum disease protection to baby pigs through the sow’s colostrum. Vaccinating sows and gilts five and two weeks prior to farrowing helps build immunity to nine potential disease threats to piglets:

  • Four of the most common strains of E. coli (K99, K88, 987P, F41)
  • Enterotoxemia caused by C. perfringens Type C
  • Atrophic rhinitis and pneumonia caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica and Pasteurella multocida Types A and C
  • Erysipelas

In field studies, piglets from dams vaccinated with Prefarrow Shield 9 showed a significantly lower incidence and severity of neonatal diarrhea and atrophic rhinitis compared to piglets from non-vaccinated dams.
